P.R. Cobbold has full-time employment as a research scientist (Directeur de Recherche) for the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France.
For this, he is based at Géosciences-Rennes, Université de Rennes 1, 35042 Rennes, Cedex, France.
In addition, CNRS may authorize him to work as part-time consultant.
Such work is subject to authorization in advance and may not exceed 20% (45 days per year) of full-time employment.
Each request for authorization must specify:
- Title of project
- Name of company requesting the work
- Name and address of a contact person in that company
- Estimated starting and finishing dates
- Estimated number of working days
Refusals are rare and CNRS must justify them.
Payment of fees to P.R. Cobbold shall be as an honorarium and not as salary.
Expenses shall be invoiced separately.
Value-Added Tax is payable on services rendered within the European Union.
The accounts of Cobbold-Consulting are verified annually by a firm of chartered accountants and are available for inspection by CNRS and by tax authorities in France.
